Sharks are night hunters. When we dive at night we use lamps (duh, we couldn’t see anything without) which tends to surprise and stun small fish, so it is an opportunity for sharks to catch lots of small fish. That’s why the sharks congregate and follow each other closely when they smell and “feel” prey nearby.
