No one knows for sure why dolphins and some whales jump out of the water. There are several theories : they jump to get rid of skin parasites , they jump for displays of strength which would be related to mating , to save energy when they travel at high speed as air is less dense than water , to get a better view of prey. Finally maybe they jump because it is fun. Seeing this one spin in front of me, that’s my favorite theory.
