I saw this colony of gentoo penguins assembled on a rocky top. Even keeping my distance to not disturb them I could hear this one individual very loud vocals. All the other penguins seemed enthralled listening to this one possibly a male trying to attract females. Gentoo Penguins are threatened by climate change and by the overfishing by humans of krill, a tiny crustacean that is part of the penguins’ diet. Cuverville Island, Antarctica
